Performs in an assigned area to prevent, detect and investigate criminal acts. Apprehends and arrests those charged with committing criminal offenses. Safeguards the lives and property of the public. Duties are of average difficulty with varying degrees of mental and physical stress. Duties are performed under general supervision. Position requires rotating shift work. Duties are performed indoors and out in all weather conditions. Position can be stressful and hazardous depending upon the assignment. Must be a High school graduate or the equivalent, have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving history. Must have completed and passed the Basic Skills Test (Compass Exam).
MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE BY COMPLETION OF THE FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM AND BE ABLE TO COMPLETE AND PASS THE FOLLOWING:
1) Compass Exam
2) Pre-Application
3) Physical Agility Test (PAT)
4) Assessment Exam
5) Background Investigation
6) Oral Interview
7) Polygraph
8) Psychological Exam
9) Medical Examination
10) Alcohol and Drug Screening.
